16195-bornescu

Well we can finally say the transfer saga of this player has found itself an ending, Mircea Bornescu has canceled his contract with Universitatea Craiova and signed a 2 year contract with Rapid earning 200k per year, details in the resegnation of his contract with Craiova have finally been decided and met. Mircea Bornescu payed the club his wages for the rest of the year if he was to stay at Universitatea Craiova, and Rapid payed Craiova 100k euros now, and will finish with 400k euros in the January transfer window.

Some Interesting facts about Mircea Bornescu:

Mircea Bornescu was born the 5th of March 1980, he joined Craiova when he was at the age of 25 (now he is 29) 4 years ago in 2005, going on to make 94 apperances for his team scoring 12 goals! (11 from penalty kicks and one of a corner) Not only will he bring more experience to the team but he will direct the back 4 prety good too.

Ceahlaul Rapid 0-4 Ps Im back!

Mugurel Buga

Hello guys! Dam Its so good to be back in the vacinity of this blog. I have been training this whole summer in the Netherlands at Fc Utrecht’s academy and i was unable to post for the Rapid Bucharest offside. I have been around theoffside, just not bloging…

But enough about me, lets talk about Rapid… Rapid finished a largely dissapointing campaign last year in 8th place and their was to be major changes for Rapid in the summer.

Jao Paolo Andrade moved on back to Porto after his loan spell, not because Rapid didn’t want him but because we couldn’t afford him… He ended up signing a new 4 year deal with RC Lens in France, and all the Rapid supporters wish him good luck.
Radomir Djalovic went back to his former club Riejka on a season loan, as he did not live up to his high transfer fee of 2m euros, and Claudio Pitbul went back to Fc Porto after his loan spell finished. We also sold Elinton Andrade to Olympique Marseile for 400k euros and Nicolae Grigorie has moved on to Brasov on a free transfer. The economic turmoil that we find ourself unfourtenatly in has affected Rapid the most this season as we had to bring up some youngsters to the first team to make up for the players who left in the summer. Youngsters like Alexandru Ionita, Catalin Paun, and Lucian Raduta have benefited from this and I have to say they have lived up to their expectetions!

Mugurel Buga has come back to Rapid after a dissapointing loan spell at Fc Brasov, but don’t worry he has already scored 7 goals this season for us, and he is getting back to the form we knew him to be in the years before. Rapid made two summer signings, Helder Da Silva a Brazilian right back on a season loan for As Nancy, and Darijan Matic a 26 year old defensive midfielder. Both have been outstanding so far for Rapid might I add.

Okie dokie enough sayd on that…

This is the Rapid Squad, it is coached by Viorel Hizo (this is his 6th spell at Rapid as coach). Also we are really close to signing Mircea Bornescu, the Universitatea Craiova Goalkeeper, who is a very experienced at the job mind you…

Rapid started the campaign off with a league win at home against Poli Iasi (4-1), then lost to Unirea Urziceni (0-1) and Timisoara (0-1) both away games. We beat Alba Iulia 2-0 at home than lost to Astra Ploiesti 3-1 away, than we beat Vaslui 3-2 at home and followed that up with a nerve racking 4-3 win against Craiova away from home, the last two results Rapid had before this Internatinal breake, 4-0 at home against International Curtea de Arges and 4-0 again away from home against Ceahlaul. Oh and I almost forgot we advanced in the Romanian Cup Round of Sixteen tie against Fc Bihor away from home winning 2-0.

This is the League Table and wait for it, wait for it, WE ARE FIRST IN THE LEAGUE, and might I add that the team who finishes in first place at the end of the season goes directly in the champions League! Ok, ok its not the end of the season but what the hell! Mugurel Buga leads the team in scoring with 7 goals, Herea has 5 and Spadacio (our top scorer last year with 17 goals) has 3 on the campaign.

Ok… Our next match is agianst Cfr Cluj, our first real test of the season, I will have the preview post for the game sometime next week, hang in there guys for the big derby!

Of course I expet a full capacity stadium of hooligans for this one…

Rapid 3-1 Fc Brasov Phew……

By: Vlad | Comments 3 Comments

Boy did we need the 3 points on offer today, but first I want to apologize for the lack of posts. After we lost 2-0 at home agains Poli AEK Timisoara and then we tied 1-1 against Unirea Urziceni. We can know only hope for a 3rd place finish which would be good for an Uefa Europa League spot, and ultimetaly an apperance in Europe. We are in huge financial turmil, but the team is holding out strong, and we really have to praise them for that.

Rapid Vs Timisoara-All or nothing.

By: Vlad | Comments 1 Comment

We have a very difficult test tommorow at home against Timisoara, not only did they beat us in the first half of the season but without their six point deduction they could have lied in first place. I still cant get that 3-0 loss to Dinamo out of my mind, I mean their stadium is smaller than a division 3 stadium in England and the sad part about it is that if they win the tittle they go directly in the champions league. Today in beautifull Bucharest, Dinamo defetead Rapid with 3 goals to nil.

Marian Rada then saying after the match:

“Their is now 8 points between us and Dinamo, we can no longer hope to win the tittle”

We lie in 5th place after that pathetich loss. Thats all. Muie Dinamo.. Forza Rapid!

Bucharest Derby Preview

By: Vlad | Comments Add Comments

After demoloshing Otelul Galati 4-0 and getting some revenge on them, its time to think about the game against Dinamo. But first lets look at the table and see where we stand.
So if you havent already seen it we are 5 points behind dinamo and 1 point behind Unirea Urziceni, so I consider this a do or die game for our tittle hopes. If it wasnt for the crapy reffeeres that are reefing in this beautifull game we wouldnt be so behind.

A little about myself…

By: Vlad | Comments 3 Comments

I was born in Bucharest, Romania, I moved to Canada at the age of 8, and I started playing and watching football at the age of 14 and a half. I am a good left winger for my school team and city team, and my favorite club is Rapid Bucharest, but I also like Acf Fiorentina and Juventus.
I hope you will all like my posts and begin to enjoy this team as much as I do. So long..
